Rob Lavengood, who had coached nine years at every level in Ashland, became the 22nd head basketball coach. His six wins came only against the OCC teams including Wooster coached by Coach Stokes. He named the MVP the “Arrow Award.” Ryan Smith, who had the best scoring average (11.9 ppg) and 31 three-pointers, was the first winner. Taylor Housewright with 230 points, 59 assists, and 124 rebounds was named Mr. Consistency. The other special awards went to Scott Heimann (Mr. Coach), Tyler McFarlin (Mr. Defense), and Aaron Hawk (Mr. Practice). The team’s 6-8 record was Ashland’s best in the first three years of the OCC. |
