Although finishing the season even, the A’s beat Marion; the NCO champs, and won three straight tournament games making it to the Findlay District finals one game from State. As a team the Orange and Black shot 20 percent from the field, which was considered the standard for that era. Bud Plank, 1st team all-NCO, was the leading scorer with 117 points. Bus Hockensmith, 2nd team all-NCO, was the second leading scorer with 99 points. The Rosie Starn era ended with an 84-50 record and three NCO titles. He headed off to Kent State University. |
