As the OHC teams scrambled behind Lexington the Arrows split with Madison and Mansfield Senior but they bombed Marion Harding. The 95-point game was the highest since 1969, and five players hit for double-figures. The shot-of-the-season was Jeff Gierhart’s three-point bomb with two second left to beat the once-beaten Tiffin Columbian 74-72. For the second straight year the season ended with an overtime tournament loss to Sandusky. For the season Gierhart was the scoring leader (294-pts), the MVP, and first-team OHC. The most accurate shooter (FGs and FTs) was Brian Klingler, who moved in from Wellington. Chris Evege (best defensive player and steals), Brian Seidner (Mr. Hustle with Klinton Brown), and Greg Hower (rebounds) were all honorable mention OHC. Andy Platt led the team in three-point shots. Jeff Gierhart slipped into the top 20 scorers with 672 career points. |
