New coach George Valentine’s team came together at the end of the season winning five straight games. The biggest win was the upset of undefeated and 9th ranked Shelby in the Sectional tournament. Three big men inside led the team: Max Messner (315 pts), center Dick Rankin (289 pts), and Tom Enck (268 pts), The guards were Jim Runyon (222 pts) and Dave Brubaker (163 pts). The season again came to the end with the third loss of the season to Mansfield.
