In a close conference race at one point five of the six teams were tied for first place It was the 10th Cardinal Conference title for Ashland and the third for Coach Jim Barr. In a balanced team effort Todd Wait (253 pts), Dave Ramage (238 pts), Jon Walter (229 pts), Bill Seder (210 pts), and Chris Stokes (149 pts) scratched out a 7-3 record for a co-championship with New Philly. Off the bench Tom Harwood was the Most Improved, and Craig Stone and Rob Ward filled in as starters for the Coshocton win. Todd Wait was the Times-Gazette MVP.
